Isokern fireplace installation
in Houston.
Isokern builds modular masonry fireplaces and chimneys. Artex orders the units through a Houston distributor and installs them with the same crew that does the masonry, so the framing, the venting, and the finished surround are all one trade's responsibility. These systems land somewhere between a prefab box and a fully site-built fireplace: engineered components, masonry finish, far less weight on the slab. We have been building fireplaces in this market since 1992 — more than 1,800 fireplaces and chimneys — and every quote is a free written itemized estimate.
What we order
and set most often.
Availability moves with the distributor. If you have a model in mind, call and we will confirm it before anything is ordered.
Three reasons
it comes up on our jobs.
- The firebox arrives engineered, so the draft is predictable instead of something we have to chase after the first burn.
- It weighs far less than a site-laid firebox, which matters on Houston slab foundations and second-floor installs.
- It finishes in brick, stone, or plaster like any masonry fireplace — nobody can tell it started as a kit.
A Isokern unit is only as good as the opening it sits in. Most of the work on these jobs is framing, venting, and the surround — see fireplace installation for how we handle a full build, or gas log installation if you are keeping the firebox you have and only changing what burns inside it.
Isokern installs
from our own jobs.

Photographed on Artex job sites in greater Houston. These are masonry fireplace kits builds of the same type we use Isokern systems for — the appliance label is not visible in every frame, so we do not claim each one is a Isokern unit.
